Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineer to join their IT Data and Analytics department.
What You'll Do
As a Senior Data Engineer within our client's IT Data and Analytics department, your role will be pivotal in shaping the future of their data architecture. You'll be responsible for designing robust data solutions that efficiently acquire data from various source systems using Azure Data Platforms and Databricks. Your keen eye for detail will ensure scalability, performance, and integrity of the designed models. You'll also have the opportunity to design new workflows while upgrading existing ones. Your collaborative nature will enable you to work effectively with cross-functional teams to align business requirements with the implemented solutions.
As an ideal candidate for the Senior Data Engineer position, you bring a minimum of 5 years of experience as a software engineer with a focus on data engineering and analytics. You have at least 3 years experience working with Databricks and Microsoft Azure Data Platform. Your technical skills include proficiency in SQL, Python, Shell, Scala along with experience in manipulating processing using Apache Spark and Databricks. Familiarity with DevOps practices such as Azure DevOps would be a strong advantage. Your excellent communication skills coupled with your ability to collaborate effectively make you a valuable team player.

What You'll Do

- Design, develop, and implement data solutions including data ingestion pipelines to acquire data from various source systems.
- Design and define data models, schemas, and structures to support analytical and reporting needs.
- Configure and manage data storage solutions.
- Design, upgrade, and implement new data workflows, automation tools, and API integrations.
- Perform unit and integration testing.
- Provide support in UAT, user training, pre-implementation and post-implementation support activities.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to support their data needs.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of data pipelines and analytics applications.
