Your Role

As a Senior Corporate Accountant, you will:

Financial Reporting

• Prepare monthly Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
• Deliver branch and departmental management reports, ensuring accuracy and insight.
• Consolidate results for NSHD (Japan), including DIVA packages, Monthly Review Meeting presentations, and other corporate reporting.
  
  

Accounting

• Lead daily accounting activities and month-end close processes.
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Manage national allocation calculations, inter-branch reporting, and cost allocations.
• Maintain lease and outgoings schedules.
• Support budgeting and quarterly reforecast processes.
• Oversee prepayments, accruals, purchase clearings, standing journals, and goods-in-transit accounts
  
  

Compliance and Governance

• Ensure compliance with ATO obligations including GST, FBT, IAS, and PAYG Instalments.
• Support external audit and income tax return preparation.
• Lead the Supagas Internal Audit program.
• Support J-SOX documentation, testing, and reporting.
• Manage excise/customs and ABS surveys.
  
  

Cash Management

• Oversee daily cashflow forecasting and management.
• Coordinate payment runs and banking activities.
• Administer company credit cards and Concur expense processes.
• Manage bank account documentation and authority controls.
  
  

What You Need:

Non-negotiables

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar field.
• A degree in Accountancy is a must
• CPA or CA qualified is a must
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of software packages particularly Excel application.
• Strong technical accounting and reporting skills with exposure in ensuring compliance in a regulatory framework (including GST/VAT style regime)
  
  

Preferred Skills/expertise

• ERP System Expertise: Proven ability to utilize and optimize large-scale Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software for core accounting and reporting functions.
• J-SOX Compliance Experience: Direct experience with Japanese-SOX (J-SOX) compliance documentation, testing, and internal control management.
• Financial Process Automation: Track record of implementing technology (e.g., advanced Excel, Power BI) to streamline and accelerate the month-end close and reconciliation processes.
• Multi-Entity Consolidation: Experience consolidating financial results across multiple branches or legal entities, including handling complex inter-company eliminations.
• Non-Finance Stakeholder Reporting: Excellent communication skills to effectively present and interpret financial performance data to branch managers and corporate leadership.
