QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education : Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology

Experience Required : At least one year experience in related field

Competencies

• Core : *Customer Service
• Technical :* Licensed Radiologic Technologist; Basic trouble shooting skills for X-ray machine and Radiological equipment

Equipment Used : X-ray & Ultrasound Machine; Automatic Processor; Desktop Computer; Printer

Working Environment : Clinic-based

Exposure to the following:

- Patients with tuberculosis and other pulmonary infections

- Radiation

- Hazardous Chemicals (developing solution used) and wastes

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs Xray procedures accurately
• Takes quality radiograph employing the right exposure factors and proper positioning for accurate interpretation and evaluation of the results
• Explains the procedure to patients to ensure maximum cooperation.
• Ensures all materials/ supplies are needed by the patient to avoid patient discomfort and hassle
• Ensure correct release of results by labelling X-ray films properly by following the standard operating procedure (SOP) for film to avoid misrepresentation of results, types X-ray results in the official report forms and double checks entries to secure accurate results.
• Prepares x-ray films for reading by the Radiologist.
• Assists Radiologists during evaluation and interpretation of the films and records pertinent findings in the logbook
• Prepares and endorses the test results to the Clinic Support Staff for release to the patients.
• Inventory and supplies management
• Calibration and Preventive Maintenance of the X-ray Machine
• Licensing and Quality Control Requirements
• Record keeping and reports
