R&D Power Module Package Development Engineer

R&D Power Module Package Development Engineer who will be focusing on new package development for the Power Module products in both captive line and outsourced subcontractors. Lead or support project requirements, design reviews, BOM changes, Tooling DFM, and co-work with multi cross-functional team for new product development and improvements.

About The Job

  • Develop and qualify semiconductor packages and processes for Power Modules in support of new product development and product transfer needs.
  • Support design efforts for derivative products using AutoCAD, Inventor, and SolidWorks design software.
  • Lead or assist in the review and consolidation of project results at each project phase, including failure analysis and the development of improvement plans.
  • Understand the assembly process and package development for Power Module Semiconductors.
  • Evaluate technical feasibility and select suitable suppliers for new processes and materials. Additionally, participate in and support supplier selection, qualification, and audit activities in conjunction with the Global Supply Chain, Quality, and Supplier Development Engineering teams.
  • Drive and support mass production ramp-up, as well as yield improvement and monitoring (Phases 4-5) following the project Phase 3 release from R&D.
  • Assist with project timelines, resource allocation, and logistics needs, including direct and indirect Bills of Materials (BOM) as required by the project.
  • Support both internal and external technical audits.
  • Act as a communication channel between internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Maintain efficient phase review documentation per APQP and the company’s corporate requirements.
  • Occasionally travel internationally for internal knowledge transfer and supplier development/qualification.



About You

  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Material Science, or Engineering.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in the development and qualification of power module products, packages, and processes for backend assembly.
  • Knowledge of assembly and testing processes, as well as materials and equipment commonly used for power modules.
  • Experience in power module process development.
  • Proficiency in mechanical drawing software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks is required.
  • Basic project management skills and experience in coordinating and supporting cross-functional teams.
  • Clear and effective communication skills in both written and verbal English.
  • A positive and open-minded attitude towards working with a multinational team.
  • Strong presentation skills are a plus.
