QA Analyst

GENERAL OBJECTIVES

• Performs chemical analysis of raw materials, finished goods, and general samples utilizing the available classical and analytical equipment in the QA laboratory.
• Responsible for QC slip issuance for all the approved finished goods products.
• Signs Certificate of Analysis of out-going finished goods products.
• Coordinates with other departments regarding the quality control status of finished products.
• Prepares sample requests for clients or customers

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

PERIODICALLY

• Performs re-checking of materials stored in the warehouse to ensure their specifications are still within limits.

DAILY

• Conducts testing
• Conducts sensory tests, physicochemical analyses, and other evaluations required to release work-in-process materials and semi-finished bulk, accurately and on time.
• Ensure that laboratory equipment/instrument and test reagent are calibrated and have the correct concentration before use, respectively, for the accuracy of test results.
• Maintains a neat and legibly written analysis record, following rules on correcting errors.
• Analysis/evaluation and release of finished goods samples that are within specifications and recommends disposition or corrective action on non-conforming in-process materials.
• Evaluate and analyze new product, miscellaneous samples (with Request for Analysis), and non-conforming products and then report his/her test results to the QA Section Lead (FAO).
• Evaluate and put on “Hold” and retest any semi-processed batch that is not conforming to the quality specifications and report to his superior for decision.
• Assists in updating the laboratory procedures instruction.
• Assists in trouble-shooting in-line deviations and recommends corrective actions.
• Correctly record the sample identification and test results of Fats and Oils samples.
• Ensures the integrity, completeness, and correctness of QA records through review and/or verification and safekeeping of the Fats and Oils QA Laboratory files and records according to the prescribed retention time.
• Lifts and correct samples as requested by PD and Marketing.
• Properly contains and labels retention samples and arranges sample stocks in the prescribed order.
• Authorized to issue an Internal Deviation Report and follow up on the corrective actions until the problem is resolved.
• Endorses to QA Section Lead any GLP issues encountered.
• Endorses to the Chemists/Analysts in charge any incident of property damage (broken glasswares/equipment), shortage of reagents, and laboratory materials that require calibration.
• Cleans and maintains his/her work area clean, safe, and orderly (Implementation of 6S).
• Authorized to approve and release all DLPF-FAO and products under normal procedure in the absence of QA FG-Delivery.
• Authorized to prepare Quality Control Slip and Certificate of Analysis of products already approved for release to the customer in the absence of QA FG-Delivery.
• Prepare needed chemicals of QC/Operators based on weekly requirements.
• Conducts and prepares inventory reports of all laboratory equipment, chemicals, and supplies/consumables.
• Participate in the Food Safety team as a team member.
• Issues, Monitor and analyze Food Safety and Quality Alert non-compliant employees
• Responsible for other tasks assigned by his/her superior from time to time.

• Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Chemistry
• Preferably a Licensed Chemist or equivalent fields (BS Chemical Engineering/BS Food Technology) with Chemistry/Chemical Technician License with good scholastic standing.
• At least 2 years of working experience in a manufacturing industry.
• Proficient in oral and written communications
