Your Role

• Manage the national service provider responsible for fuel system maintenance and hose contract, ensuring they deliver in accordance with contractual obligations and performance KPI’s.
• Regularly review service provider performance through data analysis, audits, and stakeholder feedback to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
• Develop strong working relationships with the service providers' operational teams to foster collaboration, reduce inefficiencies, and align maintenance objectives with business priorities.
• Ensure service levels and response times are tracked, reported, and escalated were performance deviates from expectations.
• Hold regular performance review meetings with major contracts and provide feedback and direction to ensure alignment with contractual terms.
• Assist in developing comprehensive project plans for the maintenance and enhancement of fuel stations, storage facilities, terminals, and associated equipment.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices by ensuring robust safety protocols.
• Manage subcontractors engaged in maintenance, repairs, and upgrades, ensuring adherence to project specifications, prioritising quality, and timeliness.
• Conduct regular evaluations to uphold service standards and explore opportunities for local contractor engagement to minimise travel costs.
• Identify process optimisation opportunities and implement innovative solutions to enhance productivity and resource utilisation.
• Implement innovative solutions to improve productivity and resource utilisation; focus on utilisation of new and existing tools such as MC (CMMS) and Safety Culture
• Track key metrics to measure project efficiency gains and cost savings.
• Establish protocols for responding to urgent works on a 24/7 basis.
• Coordinate resources to minimise project impact and ensure swift resolution.
• Prioritise and allocate resources based on agreed service level agreements.
• Communicate project updates effectively with stakeholders to manage expectations.
• Regularly review maintenance work order volumes to identify trends and propose project solutions to reduce unnecessary maintenance costs.
• Proactively address lower priority issues while trades are onsite to minimise
• disruptions.
• Implement preventive measures through solid processes and procedures to reduce the likelihood of future issues.
• Maintain accurate records of any upgraded assets and maintenance activities within MC systems.
• Ensure timely processing of project work orders and updates.
• Identify and resolve issues promptly, escalating complex problems as needed.
• Implement corrective actions to prevent the recurrence of issues.
• Collaboration with Operations and Internal Departments:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise project performance and minimise downtime.
• Foster strong working relationships with internal departments and solicit feedback for continuous improvement.
• Facilitate communication and coordination between various departments to align goals and priorities for successful project execution
  
  

What You Need

Non-negotiables

• Degree qualified in Engineering, Mechanical, or a minimum of 5 years managing repairs and maintenance works.
• Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
• Proven experience in fuel systems, either in construction and/or repairs and maintenance.
• Proficient in MS Office suite and experienced with Maintenance Management Systems
• An understanding of legislative OH&S requirements in a retail and petrol, and convenience environment.
• Competent in reading and understanding building plans.
• Strong technical expertise in fuel service stations and equipment.
• Demonstrated commitment to productivity, performance, and continuous improvement within a retail or multi-site management context.
  
  

Preferred Skills/expertise

• Previous exposure to petroleum industries is highly advantageous.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise effectively.
• Solution-oriented mindset with a focus on identifying and implementing cost-effective maintenance solutions.
