Public Affairs Manager

As a Public Affairs Manager, you will be responsible for stakeholder engagement, including media relations, the Public Affairs Officer is the essential communicator, strategist, and advisor within the Bank. He/She is tasked with consolidating the stakeholder engagement/communication plan, crafting compelling narratives and theme, handling crisis communications, facilitating stakeholder outreach, and as needed, guiding the Bank through the “battlefield” of public opinion. He/She develops and implements PR strategies, writes and distributes press releases, coordinates interviews and media requests, and monitors and evaluates the public perception of the Bank. He/She also liaises with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, partners, journalists, etc.
How you'll contribute
- Develop and implement strategic communication plans and content calendars to effectively convey the organization’s mission, policies, and initiatives to the public and stakeholders.
- Write, edit, and distribute press releases, speeches, newsletters, and other communication materials to accurately inform and engage various audiences.
- Be the Comms Business Partner of Investor Relations, Compliance, Alliance, Sustainability Unit; ensuring their comms needs are met.
- Provide crisis communication support, developing and disseminating messages to mitigate negative impacts on the organization’s reputation.
- Organize and manage press conferences, media briefings, and interviews, facilitating a positive relationship between the organization and the media.
- Coordinate with internal departments and other Comms BPs to gather information and respond to public inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Monitor and analyze media coverage, public opinion, and social media trends to adjust communication strategies and address emerging issues.
- Have oversight on the organization’s social media presence, ensuring consistent, accurate, and engaging content across all platforms.
What we’re looking for
- At least 3+ years of experience in PR, Marketing, Communications or similar role
- Bachelor's/College Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or Political Science-related
- Exceptional communication skills - Articulate writing and clear spoken communication. Must be able to distill complex information into accessible messaging for diverse audiences.
- Strong people skills - Forging relationships, crafting messages, building and maintaining positive relationships with media representatives, stakeholders, and the public.
- Strategic thinking - Sees the bigger picture and understands how various communication strategies will impact the Bank’s reputation and objectives
- Adaptability - Flexible and quick to respond to new challenges and opportunities.
- Experience in media relations, crisis communication, and strategic communication planning.
- Ability to adjust tone and message to audiences across the spectrum of financial sophistication, from institutions and financial advisers to plan sponsors and individuals.
- Well-versed in financial products and accustomed to describing financial markets, products, and economic activity in clear, direct language.
