The CCB Operations Program and Project Management Group is a team of experienced professionals aligned with Line of Business strategic initiatives driving execution, growth, better controls, and enhanced customer experiences. The Senior Project Manager is accountable for the management of projects/program from initiation to closure. This individual will be responsible to directly manage multiple projects or a large program of varying complexity, possibly cross-department or cross-division and possible at various geographic locations. This position is responsible to organize, direct, manage, control and execute the activities of assigned projects/programs in order to ensure that projects are completed on time, within the approved budget, and within stated strategic and business goals and objectives. The Senior Project Manager partners closely with business, technology, and other support partners to ensure successful execution. Clear communication, transparent reporting, and effective presentation building are vital elements of the position. The successful candidate will excel at creative thinking and problem solving; be self-motivated, confident, organized and ready to work in a fast-paced, energetic environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Understand and combine strategic vision with tactical expertise and analytical problem-solving skills to identify opportunities that enhance competitiveness, boost profitability, and address evolving customer needs.
- Leverage data, employee or customer feedback and market analytics in developing innovate, even disruptive solutions, that help deliver the best products for employees and customers
- Lead projects from strategy development to execution by comprehending the interdependencies among various variables, engaging stakeholders, and assessing risks, issues, and decision impacts.
- Prepare and present comprehensive project charters, status reports, and proposals, thoroughly vetting them with partners to secure buy-in, identify risks and complexities, and ensure viable solutions before presenting to senior executives. Display expertise in the use of project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Scrum) and the ability to apply them effectively.
- Allocate time effectively, ensuring that project tasks are completed within set deadlines. This involves prioritizing tasks, working on multiple priorities, and managing time constraints for both the project manager and the team.
- Anticipate potential risks, assess their impact, and develop strategies to mitigate them. Adapt to changing circumstances, project requirements, and stakeholder needs.
- Negotiate with stakeholders, vendors, and team members to reach mutually beneficial agreements.
- Understand and manage one's emotions, as well as empathize with team members and stakeholders. Partner with PMO Lead in building strong relationships and fostering a collaborative work environment among team members, project teams and colleagues.
- Inspire, motivate, and guide team members towards achieving project goals. Set clear vision, provide direction, and foster a positive team environment.
- Make informed and timely decisions, often under pressure, that keep the project on track and aligned with strategic goals.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills- Internal
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Requires business project experience
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Microsoft products).
- Excellent end-to-end problem solving skills and ability to prioritize issues and analysis
- Strong interpersonal, influencing, and listening skills – ability to interact with colleagues at all levels and achieve goals without direct control over resources
- Ability to structure and scope complex problems and apply a range of analytical tools to develop solutions
- Works independently and can direct the activities of other PMs or matrixed team resources.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- People management experience preferred
- Experience in delivering projects using Agile Project Methodologies is a plus.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Track record demonstrating a high level of personal initiative, setting and achieving challenging goals, and demonstrating entrepreneurial leadership
- Openness to an environment of active developmental feedback from peers and managers
- Conflict resolution, negotiation and influencing skills
- PMP or CAPM certification is a plus.
