Project Officer Assessment

Operating within the Small Scale Mining Hub, you will be involved in the facilitation of sustainable mining-related development across the State by undertaking assessment of mining claims and other small-scale mining tenure applications. You will provide advice about mining developments by liaising with clients and stakeholders in government and the community, and by liaising with regional exploration and mining industry operators to support the Small Scale Mining Hub.

In This Role You Will

• Provide support to deliver assessments on mining tenures within agreed timeframes and in accordance with legislation, policy and departmental work procedures for the commodity hubs.
• Facilitate the timely progression of mining tenures by liaison with tenure holders, industry and Government agencies where required.
• Assist in the development of tenures administration procedures and ensure consistency of policies and procedures.
• Assist with the application of legislation by conducting research and preparing relevant documents where required.
• Assist where required with high quality advice, briefings, correspondence, reports, and submissions including redaction of sensitive information for a range of clients including the Minister and Executive Management.
• Maintain accurate records of actions relating to administration of mining tenures.
• Contribute to the development and review of administrative procedures impacting workflow and
• Maintain and update departmental information systems and be accountable for internal and external correspondence as directed by the Director and Senior Management.
• Work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues, including those across other teams, to achieve high quality outcomes.
• Provide customer service at our counter locations, handle customer enquiries and issues through phone and email communications.
• Participate in the Resource Authority Register project to assist in development of a new resource register for mining tenures.
