Responsibilities

The Project Manager will drive product development and business enhancement from conception to launch and beyond, focusing on:

  • Process Strategy: Marketplace Growth & Integration: Own and lead the strategic planning projects for Engineering and Business including third-party integrations, marketplace growth, eCommerce technology, and business projects such as General Ledger replacements, department tool enhancements.
  • Process Leadership: Develop and lead business projects across the company.
  • Platform & Feature Enhancement: Help to be a change agent to streamline and automate processes, and continuously improve platform and toolset features.

Requirements & Development Lifecycle

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements Gathering: Facilitate in-depth discussions with internal and external stakeholders (including clients, customers, vendor partners, users, employees, and consultants) to gather comprehensive product requirements and feedback. Ensure the Engineering team receives sufficient detail on the business's needs and underlying rationale, while Project Managing development meetings with heavy use of Jira.
  • Product Definition & Prioritization: Capture high-level product requirements and translate them into detailed, actionable tasks for the development team. Proactively identify and assist in prioritization based on Level of Effort (LOE) and / or Return on Investment (ROI) with respect to overarching corporate goals.
  • Business Solutions: Collaborate closely with Business Departments to aid in the design and development of technology-based process improvements to drive automation.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL PM & PROBLEM RESOLUTION

  • Business & Technology Workflow Enhancement: Learn a solid understanding of business and technology workflows to enhance project outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Project Facilitation & Completion: Facilitate effective project completion across all stakeholders, from technology teams to various business functions, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Conflict Resolution & Roadblock Management: Proactively identify and assist in the resolution of underlying conflicts, competing priorities, and roadblocks, enabling team members to achieve common goals efficiently.
  • Technical Understanding & Advocacy: Work closely with the business to cultivate an overall technical understanding of the platform, including its integrations and feature sets, acting as a bridge between technical capabilities and business needs.
  • Business Re-engineering & Automation: The ideal candidate will possess the expertise to manage any typical technology development effort, while also adeptly bridging the gap to business re-engineering, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent practical experience) and a minimum of 5 years of related PM experience ideally with eCommerce knowledge.
  • eCommerce Platform Expertise: Demonstrated understanding of various eCommerce platforms, ERP systems, Warehouse Management Systems (Our WMS is Deposco), Database (DB is SQL SVR and MySQL) systems, and reporting platforms (Cognos and MS SSRS), along with the critical factors that contribute to a successful solution within our industry.
  • Product Documentation: Proven ability to document product requirements with sufficient knowledge, detail, and clarity for technical teams.
  • Requirements Analysis: Strong experience performing thorough requirements analysis through independent research and testing methodologies.
  • Project Management Tools: Expertise in utilizing modern Project Management (PM) tools such as Jira, Asana, Monday.com, or similar platforms.
  • Methodology Acumen: Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile, Scrum, Kanban, GAP Analysis, SWOT Analysis and other relevant project methodologies helpful.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical and business concepts clearly and persuasively to business audiences.
  • Problem-Solving: : Exceptional problem-solving skills with a proactive and analytical approach to identifying and resolving complex challenges.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively and interdependently within a dynamic team environment.
  • Strategic Mindset: A strong inclination to challenge the status quo and contribute innovative ideas that drive business strategy and growth.
  • Client-Facing Experience: Direct client-facing communication experience, demonstrating the ability to manage expectations and gather feedback effectively is desired but not mandatory.
