About the role
The Procurement Officer is responsible for managing all aspects of the procurement process in compliance with company policies and procedures. This role involves sourcing and purchasing quality products and services at competitive prices to support the company's operations and objectives.
This is where you’ll shine:
Sourcing and Procurement:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery capabilities.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to achieve cost savings and quality improvements.
- Place orders for goods and services, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to agreed-upon specifications.
- Develop and implement a robust supplier onboarding process to ensure compliance and alignment with company standards and Information Security Management System
Supplier Relationship Management:
- Maintain and develop relationships with key suppliers.
- Address and resolve any issues regarding supplier performance, delivery, and quality , acting as a primary point of contact for supplier-related concerns.
- Conduct periodic supplier evaluations and audits and identify areas for improvement inline with company information security management systems.
Inventory and Demand Planning:
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate supply of materials and products , while minimizing holding costs and obsolescence.
- Forecast demand and adjust procurement plans accordingly.
- Collaborate with various departments to determine procurement needs and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain detailed records of purchases, pricing, and other relevant documentation ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Prepare reports on procurement activities, costs, and trends, providing insights to support decision-making.
Cost Management:
- Analyze market trends and other factors to maintain the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of procurement activities.
- Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality, leveraging negotiation strategies and alternative sourcing options.
Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate potential risks in the procurement process., including supply chain disruptions, quality issues, and ethical concerns.
- Develop contingency plans to address supply chain disruptions, ensuring business continuity in unforeseen circumstances.
What you’ll bring in:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement or a related field.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles.
