Pollution Control Officer

The Pollution Control Officer is tasked to ensure that everyone in the company complies with the Health, Safety and Environment policies. He or she will also be responsible for establishing policies that will create and maintain a safe workplace.

Roles & Responsibilities

Policy Making

• Prepares and enforce updated policies to the establish a culture of health and safety.
• Examine and update permits, licenses, applications and records of compliance.
• Coordination with DOLE, DENR, PEZA.
• Attend to the requirements of the establishment or agency prior to the construction.
• Monitor activities pertaining the installation or construction of pollution source and.
• Supervise the proper operation and maintenance of pollution control facilities.
• Evaluates practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk adherence to the law.
• Recommends solutions to safety issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.
  
  

Compliance

• Monitors compliance to policies and laws by auditing employees and operational activities both in the main office and project sites.
• Ensure that documents and practices are following the company's ISO standards.
• Complies with ISO safety standards and helps in its proper implementation and development.
  
  

Reporting

• Performs safety surveys and Inspection, prepares written reports of findings and recommendation for corrective and preventive measures were indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
• Conduct meetings.
  
  

Training

• Conducts training and presentation for environmental matters.
  
  

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and report on air, water, and soil quality.
• Ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
• Conduct environmental audits and implement corrective measures.
• Manage waste disposal and recycling programs.
• Provide training and raise awareness on environmental issues.
• Coordinate with DENR-EMB for permits and compliance.

What We're Looking For...

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
• At least 2-3 years of experience in pollution control or environmental management.
• Valid PCO Certificate from a DENR-EMB accredited training organization.
• Accredited PCO by DENR-EMB.
• Strong knowledge of environmental laws (RA 8749, RA 9275, RA 9003, RA 6969).
• Proficient in pollution monitoring, waste management, and compliance reporting.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Onsite work (outdoor), expose to the different kind of climate (heat and rain). Typical working hours will depend on the site requirements and client request. Working days from Monday to Saturday. Traveling around will be required of the job.
