We're searching for a talented Podcast Video Editor who specializes in crafting seamless, polished, and engaging longform audio and video content. You're an experienced editor who understands how to elevate the listeners and viewers experience, ensuring content sounds and looks professional, even when working with less-than-perfect setups.

As our Podcast Editor, you'll collaborate with producers, hosts, and the creative team to deliver content that aligns with each clients vision and brand guidelines. You'll be responsible for producing professional-quality podcast episodes and longform video content for platforms like YouTube, ensuring the final product captivates audiences from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

1. Podcast Editing & Audio Engineering:

• Edit and produce high-quality podcast episodes, ensuring clarity, smooth transitions, and minimal background noise.
• Balance audio levels between hosts and guests to create a consistent listening experience.
• Enhance and clean audio, even from remote recordings with suboptimal setups.
• Add intro/outro music, sound effects, and other creative elements as needed.
  
  
  

2. Longform Video Editing for Podcasts:

• Edit full-length video versions of podcasts for platforms like YouTube, incorporating visuals such as transitions, text overlays, B-roll, and other dynamic elements to keep viewers engaged.
• Synchronize audio and video for a seamless viewing experience.
• Optimize videos for YouTube, ensuring they adhere to platform best practices for engagement and discoverability.
  
  
  

3. Creative Collaboration & Post-Production:

• Work closely with producers, hosts, and the creative team to ensure episodes align with the brands vision and storytelling goals.
• Provide input on how to improve overall production quality and workflow.
• Collaborate on the development of YouTube thumbnails, titles, and descriptions to maximize reach.
  
  
  

4. Workflow & Project Management:

• Maintain organized files and adhere to established workflows to ensure timely delivery of projects.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality output.
  
  
  

What You Bring:

• Experience:
• 23 years of podcast editing experience with a portfolio of high-quality audio and video content.
• Proven expertise in editing longform video content for platforms like YouTube.
  
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in tools like Adobe Audition, Premiere Pro, and Frame.io (or similar software).
• Strong understanding of audio engineering principles, including balancing, equalizing, and noise reduction.
• Familiarity with YouTubes longform content best practices, including viewer retention strategies.
  
• Soft Skills:
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with creative teams.
• A self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently and deliver consistently high-quality results.
  
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience editing content for personal brands or working in an agency/media environment.
• Passion for storytelling, media, and technology.
• Familiarity with creating supplementary assets like thumbnails, show notes, or promotional clips.
