Job Overview
The Plant Manager will be responsible for overseeing plant operations, production planning, and managing manufacturing operations on a day-to-day basis.
Your Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Oversee all plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality control, logistics, and safety, to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
- Production Efficiency: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement process improvements to maximize efficiency, reduce waste, and minimize downtime.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that tin can products meet or exceed company and industry quality standards (e.g., ISO, HACCP, food safety standards).
- Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance: Enforce compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and environmental guidelines. Promote a safety-first culture among all staff.
- Team Leadership & Development: Manage, train, and mentor plant staff including supervisors, technicians, and operators. Foster an environment of accountability and continuous learning.
- Budget & Cost Control: Develop and manage the plant budget, controlling operating costs, raw material usage, and labor expenditures while improving plant profitability.
- Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination: Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure consistent availability of raw materials (steel, aluminum, coatings, etc.) and timely shipment of finished goods.
- Equipment & Maintenance Oversight: Ensure the upkeep and efficiency of all manufacturing equipment and machinery. Lead preventive maintenance planning and troubleshooting of production lines.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with governmental, environmental, and food safety regulations. Prepare and present regular reports to upper management on performance metrics.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement initiatives to optimize plant performance and competitiveness.
- Preferably graduate of Engineering course/ License is an advantage
- Must have experience in tin can manufacturing industry
- At least 10 years of experience in manufacturing industry
- Plant Management and Operations Management skills
- Production Planning skills
