PHARMACIST - METRO BACOLOD

I. JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the proper dispensing of drugs as prescribed by the physicians.

1. Interprets Physician’s prescriptions. Coordinates with the Senior Pharmacist if and when the prescription is not clear and if still in doubt contacts the concerned Physician to ensure right drug will be dispensed.

2. Receives list of supplies close to expiration dates from Pharmacy Clerks for timely endorsement of lists together with the items to Pharmacy Stock Clerk for Return Merchandise Slip (RMS) generation with prior approval from the Department Supervisor.

3. Attends promptly to customer inquiries and complaints.

4. Oversees Pharmacy Assistants in drug dispensing.

5. Trains/ orients Pharmacy Assistants on prescription reading and laws governed on drug dispensing.

6. Visits other drugstore/pharmacy as scheduled and observes overall procedures for possible benchmarking. May also assist in canvassing price to ensure competitive selling of drugs.

7. Maintains pharmacy records for prescriptions, exempt and narcotic substances, and literature files.

8. Ensures all available stocks in the warehouse have corresponding display in the selling area.

9. Provides technical guidance and assistance to Pharmacy Assistants and Inventory Clerk especially the new ones and those needing special attention.

10. Attends promptly to customer complaints especially on drug-related problems.

11. Informs immediate superior promptly any problems or unusual matters of significance.

12. Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes.

13. Performs other tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the immediate supervisor.
