Position Summary:

The People Business Partner, APAC provides subject matter expertise and partnership to Leaders of Leaders and VPs. They enable successful execution of people strategy at a functional level and resolution of complex issues. Acting as an extension of their LoLs’ / VPs’ leadership team, they align business objectives, people needs and deployment of POps products and services to drive a culture of healthy high performance. They are a trusted advisor, relationship manager and true thought partner for the leadership teams they support. They assess, anticipate, facilitate and inspire regional and people related strategies through to execution. Assessing the capability and needs in the areas of leadership & management development, career development, performance management, employee relations, compensation and talent acquisition, and drive appropriate solutions in these areas with partnered COE team members.

This role will be based in our office in Makati City, working on a day shift, onsite.

Essential Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): and Percentage of Time Spent

  • Business Partnering, Consult and Advise- Collaborating with business leaders to understand the organisational objectives, challenges, and opportunities in their function. Use this knowledge to develop effective people strategies that support the overall business goals, making use of POps products, services and programs Represent the needs and interests of the teams they business partner with at strategic People meetings to help steer the People agenda. Provide strategic HR business partnership to impact engagement, development, and retention of talent. Consult, coach, and develop leader capabilities in line with Pax8 Leadership competencies to solve interpersonal challenges and navigate conflict in their team, address performance concerns and provide progressive solutions related to workforce, talent, and organizational matters 40%
  • Change Management- Support in times of organisational change, such as mergers, acquisitions, or restructuring, POps BPs help people leaders navigate the change process by providing expertise in areas such as communication, employee engagement, and managing resistance whilst maintaining compliance with both regulation and process. 10%
  • Business Engagement and Planning- Shape and drive comprehensive workforce strategy. Identify organizational gaps, deploying impactful people strategies for effective performance and scalability Working with functional leaders to identify skill gaps, develop succession plans, and create strategies for attracting, retaining, and developing top talent, including enabling leaders to develop effective and engaging job descriptions and supporting elevations are successfully passed through Executive Board though considered planning in line with agreed process. Participate in and deliver annual Talent Talks to drive evidenced based and development driven conversations about talent across the region. 20%
  • Relationship Management- Build strong working relationships and a deep understanding of key business drivers and priorities of client group/s leadership team/s, established through regular catch ups, involvement at departmental leadership teams and the provision of quality and trusted POps solutions and advice. Act as point of escalation for People Advisors 10% Knowledge share with People Advisors and junior members of the POps organisation to help them grow and develop their subject matter expertise 10%
  • Analyzing Data and Feedback- Utilizing data and analytics to drive informed decision-making. Using people metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement, develop strategies to enhance team effectiveness, including but not limited to identifying reward and retention strategies, workforce planning, talent acquisition strategies, well-being initiatives and other people-related activity. 10%
  • HR Operations and Compliance- Ensure risk and compliance is considered and managed in all people decisions. Guide leaders accurately through POps processes and procedures Support leaders through complex ER issues in line with local process and procedure, balancing the needs of individuals, teams and Pax8. Lead with integrity, fairness and respect for all parties. 10%

Ideal Skills, Experience, and Competencies:

  • Substantial experience within People Operations (Human Resources) in a consulting role to business leaders, preferably in an agile, fast paced environment.
  • Leadership Influence: Experience influencing and advising leaders on talent and employment situations, and coaching teams and leaders.
  • Business insights and financial acumen: knowledge of OKRs, organizational (re-)design, change management and strategy alignment.
  • Legal and Compliance knowledge: In-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to management of employees, and the ability to reduce corporate legal risks and ensure regulatory compliance
  • HR and Business Knowledge: Deep understanding of business and HR theories, systems, and the evolving business environment.
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal, organizational, verbal, written, presentation, and communication abilities.
  • Cultural Competence: Ability to work with a diverse range of people from different cultures and backgrounds.
  • Initiative and Prioritization: Ability to take initiative, manage multiple complex priorities, highly organized, detail-oriented, and a self-starter.
  • Change Management: proven ability to guide, manage, and facilitate the transition of individuals / teams, from a current state to a desired future state. Anticipate and mitigate issues that will lead to change resistance and ensure changes are implemented smoothly so desired benefits are realized.
  • HR Interventions: Experience in identifying, designing, and deploying HR interventions within the business.
  • Advanced coaching: encourages strategic thinking and problem-solving, helping coaches to develop innovative solutions or fostering long-term behavioral changes required for them to be successful. Proven ability to coach and influence leaders in global, cross-functional, and matrix organizations
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities, data-driven approach, and problem-solving skills to influence decisions.
  • Data proficiency: in-depth understanding of data analysis and the ability to apply more complex techniques to derive insights from data.
  • Stakeholder Management: uses stakeholder awareness to proactively resolve or mitigating conflicting requirements of groups to improve solution quality and people and business outcomes within their regional context
  • Active listening: ability to fully engage in listening to truly understand the message being conveyed, deferring judgement or response until the speaker has finished talking. It is the fundament skill required to collaboratively solve problems with business stakeholders
  • Talent Calibration: ability to assess and calibrate talent capability within a function and recommend tailored development guidance. At Pax8 we use Talent Talks and competence looks like being a certified Talent Talk facilitator
  • Performance Management: ability to support leaders with informal and formal performance management practices from setting expectations, regular 1:1s, measuring performance, corrective conversations and performance improvement plans.
  • Delivers effective feedback: communicating constructive, clear, and actionable insights in a timely manner to peers or leaders so corrective action can be taken to prevent or resolve a conflict.
  • Mediation and conflict management: ability to identify, address, and resolve disputes in a constructive manner before formal HR intervention is required. When required, serve as a mediator to facilitate discussions and negotiations between parties to reach a satisfactory resolution, ensuring the process is impartial and all voices are heard
  • Pax8 Leadership Fluency: understands Pax8 leadership expectations at various levels. Uses this to tailor advice and guidance, identify skills gaps and signpost to established learning solutions

  • Root cause analysis: ability to identify the underlying reason for problems or incidents and using it to provide effective HR solutions that address the core issues rather than just treating the symptoms
