Why this role exists
We are seeking an Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist to streamline and manage the financial operations of a high-volume restaurant franchise. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, maintaining vendor relationships through efficient accounts payable management, and supporting the overall financial health of the operation through precise record-keeping and reporting.
The Impact you’ll make
Payroll Management
- Process biweekly payroll for team members
- Handle time corrections and penalty pay calculations
- Manage PTO, PSL, vacation, and holiday tracking
- Process 401k contributions and reporting
- Process and track all vendor invoices
- Manage supplier payments and documentation
- Update invoice tracking systems
- Handle expense reports and reconciliation
- Complete required state and federal reporting
- Maintain accurate records for audit purposes
- Handle CalRecycle and tourism assessment filings
- Process quarterly worksite reports
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries via email and Slack
- Process new hire documentation and tax information
- Handle terminations and transfers in all systems
- Maintain accurate employee records
Required:
- 1+ years of experience in payroll processing or accounts payable
- Proven experience with HR/Payroll software systems
- Background in restaurant or retail accounting (preferred)
- Strong proficiency in data entry and Excel
- Experience handling confidential information
- WFH Set-Up:
- Computer with at least 8GB RAM, an Intel i5 core processor/AMD Ryzen 5 Processor and up.
- Internet speed of at least 40MBPS
- Headset with an extended mic that has noise cancellation and a webcam
- Back-up computer and internet connection
- Quiet, dedicated workspace at home

Work Setup:
- Remote position
- Must have a reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace
- Required to provide own computer with Intel Core i5 or something similar or higher operating system
- Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 11 AM PST (Pacific Standard Time)
- 20 hours per week
- $8 per hour
- No benefits package included
