Position Title Oil & Gas / Chemical Surveyor
Reporting to General Manager
Location Philippines – Cebu / Davao

Responsibilities: –

• Check with Scheduler for job assignment.
• Perform quantity determination inspections of shore tanks, ship tanks, and gas tanks of a variety of oil & gas and chemical commodities including petroleum and petrochemicals inspections and collect samples for laboratory analysis.
• Measure shore tanks, ship tanks and gas tanks and ascertain volume and weight of cargo according to standard method of calculation.
• Carry out proper reference sampling of various liquid and gas cargoes.
• Able to carry out inspections for loading, discharging, STS transshipment with supervision.
• Calculate and report quantities transferred and perform full reconciliation of same.
• Accurately complete all required field reports and forms before submission to office.
• Report checking in the office as detailed by Scheduler as and when required.
• Maintain regular communication with office operations staff with reference to job status, problems, concerns, etc.
• Follow detailed instructions from senior surveyor working with him.
• Provide guidance and assist in the training of junior surveyors.
• Maintain knowledge and adhere to the latest industry and client procedures and highest standards of ethics, in accordance with the AmSpec Services Statement of Integrity.
• Adhere to clients’ and AmSpec safe work policies and procedures.
• Be available for training conducted from time to time.
• Always remain contactable when on the job and on stand-by.
• Perform all other ad-hoc duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

• At least secondary school graduate with fair command of spoken and written English.
• Minimum 2 years work experience in the testing & inspection industry, preferably oil & gas and chemical.
• Good understanding & knowledge of refinery operations relating to inspections activities.
• Basic math comprehension with an aptitude for fractions.
• Dependable and reliable whose daily presence adds to the success of the Department.
• Physically fit for working outdoors in all weather conditions, working at height and carry weight such as samples, gear and equipment.
• Must be able to differentiate between colors accurately by sight.
• Must have flexible schedule as position will include evenings, weekend and holidays work based on customers’ needs.
• High tolerance for job pressure and extended hours.
