Mold Maintenance Engineer

Reporting to: Technical Services Manager

Work Schedule: 5-day work week

As a Mold Maintenance Engineer, you will coordinate and execute the mold and toolings maintenance programs and activities to support the company’s goal to increase equipment uptime and productivity.

Other responsibilities include:

• Conducts regular maintenance and repairs of plastic injection molds, press molds, tools and dies to ensure their optimal functionality, reliability, and safety.
• Develops mold maintenance plan and ensures its implementation
• Evaluate causes of mold breakdowns/downtime, and formulate action plans, implement and monitor results to ensure continued & smooth production process.
• Implements safety and housekeeping standards, ensuring that the molds and accessories are stored properly and readily available for production use.
• Monitors operating conditions of production molds and accessories and recommends technical improvements to optimize production
• Evaluates mold supplier’s drawings and identify improvements
• Identifies opportunities and implements projects to improve mold reliability, maintenance processes, and efficiency.
• Coordinates with production team and internal/external suppliers in the testing/validation of new molds and the repair or modification of existing molds

To succeed and grow in this role, you will be required to meet the following qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Mechatronics or similar field)
• At least three (3) years of relevant work experience in the repair and maintenance of molds
• Knowledgeable in 2D/3D CAD
• Proficient in plastic injection mold measurements (nominal and tolerance values), maintenance and safekeeping.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve mold issues
• Ability to operate maintenance power tools and test instruments
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, mechanical diagrams, process and instrumentation diagrams, etc.
• Ability to work in MS Office / Google Suite environment
• Interpersonal Relationship Skills to communicate, interact, and build connections with others effectively
