Job Description:

We are a US-based company seeking a detail-oriented Billing and Collections Specialist to work remotely and to manage the insurance billing process and ensure clear communication with both staff and patients. The ideal candidate will be responsible for verifying insurance coverage, processing payments, managing accounts receivable, and resolving billing issues to ensure the financial success of the practice.

Responsibilities:

● Process insurance billings for patient services accurately and on time.

● Verify insurance coverage and communicate updates to staff and patients.

● Coordinate payments from insurance carriers and resolve payment issues.

● Review and appeal denied claims to maximize revenue.

● Track collections and manage accounts receivable.

● Review and correct errors, resubmitting claims when necessary.

● Liaise between insurance carriers, staff, and patients to resolve billing concerns.

● Manage collections, receivables, and operational expenses to achieve revenue goals.

● Support team members with insurance verification and payment processes.

● Analyze Explanation of Benefits (EOB) to ensure accurate claims processing.

● Identify and correct billing or coding errors, following up on claims.

● Report changes in carrier guidelines and reimbursement trends to management.

Qualifications:

● Proven experience as a Billing and Collections Specialist or in a similar role.

● Strong knowledge of insurance billing processes and collections.

● Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

● Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

● Experience with healthcare billing software and payer online resources.

● Knowledge of insurance claims processing and the appeals process.

● Education in Healthcare Administration, Finance, or a related field.

● Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
