MARINE CHIEFMATE (Tugboat)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Navigation watch-standing responsibilities include voyage plan implementation, position plotting, collision avoidance, traffic management, and emergency response.
• Safety and firefighting operational responsibilities include the supervision of the maintenance of equipment, response proficiency, and training of the crew.
• Follows all safety rules and regulations as well as all company policies and procedures
• Works safely around machinery; observes and instructs others in proper equipment use; uses/wears all required PPE.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working in a tugboat as a mate is a plus.
• Experience as TM/CM on Z-Peller and Duck-Peller tugboats in harbor assisting and towages.
• Proficient in survival craft and rescue boats.
• Major Patron Licensed.
• With training certificates and medicate certificate.
• Knowledgeable in port and/or tug operations, analytical, interpersonal skills, customer oriented, administrative skills, process oriented.
• Willing to be assigned to any location as required.
• The candidate must have the following qualities:
