About This Role

The Project Manager will lead the implementation of the multi-year digital literacy project funded by ChildFund Korea. Specifically, the Project Manager will design and develop a collaborative project management approach, in coordination with the implementing partner, ensuring full compliance with the requirements of the donor, provide oversight of co-applicants and stakeholders’ compliance, and liaise with the ChildFund program staff for technical support and backstopping. The Project Manager leads and provides day-to-day management support to the partner in carrying out the planned project activities in the different locations and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders. S/he will have direct supervision over the Finance Officer and will coordinate and support technical support to the Project Coordinator of the implementing partner.

As a child-focused organization, the position is expected to remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding risks and acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child safeguarding policy and procedures, and conduct in a manner consistent with ChildFund’s Safeguarding Policy.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the implementation of project activities and components that are under the direct responsibility of ChildFund.
  • Closely coordinate with the implementing partner to synchronize and monitor implementation of components under their direct responsibility.
  • Prepare project documentation and reports.
  • Coordinate with the ChildFund Communications Officer to develop communications materials related to the project.
  • Represent the project team in all external engagements related to the project.

Required Experience And Education

  • At least five years’ experience in community development work, project management, and donor reporting.
  • At least 3 years of project management experience and direct supervision of project staff.
  • Strong understanding of digital literacy and the application of digital skills in pedagogy
  • Experience in working with the Department of Education, local government units (LGUs), local CSOs, national government agencies, and other institutions.
  • Excellent presentation, public speaking, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in local policy advocacy.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work and community development, education, or in any related field.
  • Master’s degree in education is an advantage.
  • Relevant education trainings.

This involves staying current with technological trends and their application in the project’s context.
    • Stakeholder Engagement Skills: A demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, build trust, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, local government units, civil society organizations, and schools. This skill is vital for achieving alignment and commitment to the project’s objectives.
    • Leadership and Supervision: Strong leadership capabilities to manage and guide a team, ensuring clarity of roles, accountability, and a supportive working environment. Experience supervising staff and providing direction to achieve both individual and organizational goals.
    • Advocacy Skills: Expertise in advocating for policy changes at the local level to support the project’s goals and sustainability. This includes the ability to influence decision-makers, mobilize communities, and drive initiatives that align with the project’s vision.
    • Communication and Reporting Skills: Exceptional ability to prepare and deliver project documentation, such as progress reports and presentations. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effectively conveying information to various audiences, including donors and stakeholders.
    • Interpersonal Communicative and Facilitation Skills: Skillful in facilitating discussions, leading team meetings, and promoting participatory management practices while fostering team cohesion and motivation.
    • Cross-Cultural Sensitivity: High-level interpersonal skills to build collaborative relationships, respecting cultural, ethnic, social, and political dynamics. This includes adapting communication styles to suit different contexts.
    • Language Proficiency: Above-average proficiency in English for written and oral communication, with a preference for fluency in a local language to enhance stakeholder engagement.


    • Organization Skills: The ability to prioritize tasks effectively, manage multiple responsibilities, and ensure that all project activities are completed on schedule, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the project.
    • Critical Thinking: An analytical mindset to evaluate situations comprehensively, identify potential risks, and develop proactive solutions to avoid or address issues as they arise.
    • Technical and Report Writing: Advanced skills in creating detailed technical reports and documentation, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with donor expectations and project objectives.
