We are looking for an ambitious Junior Accountant who is keen to grow in a tech startup to provide support to the financial department by managing daily accounting tasks. You will be reporting directly to the Finance Manager and together will maintain order and achieve a well-managed finance operation. Accounts receivable management, bookkeeping, and bank reconciliation are a large part of the junior accountant’s day-to-day work. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in accounting principles and able to work comfortably with large amounts of data and spreadsheets, with great attention to detail.

The goal is to contribute to the overall efficient operation of the department and help the company be fully aware of its financial condition. This way it can make the right decisions and accomplish long-term success.

Responsibilities

• Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
• Perform daily bank reconciliation and recording of credit card transactions
• Create transactions in the Company's billing system and issue corresponding customer invoices
• Update accounts receivable and ensures timely collections
• Calculate and prepare AR DSO reports
• Update accounts payable and performs reconciliations against vendor invoices
• Monitor the daily telco spending and customer usage data
• Compile expense reimbursements for payroll processing
• Assist the Finance Manager during month-end close and preparation of monthly and quarterly reports
• Assist with other accounting projects
  
  

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience as an accountant or external auditor
• Keen to work in a tech startup environment
• CPA is a plus but not required
• Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy
• Comfortable in handling, organizing, and analyzing large amounts of data in an Excel format
• Great attention to detail
• Good communication skills
• Excellent understanding of GAAP/IFRS
• Experience in the use of Xero or any billing software is a plus
