About The Team & Business Line

The IT Operations Department at Citco plays a crucial role in maintaining and supporting the company's technological infrastructure and ensuring smooth business operations. Key responsibilities include Infrastructure Management, Service Delivery, Security Operations, System Monitoring and System redundancy implementation to support Business Continuity.

The IT Operations team is essential in keeping Citco's technology infrastructure running efficiently and securely, supporting the company's position as a leading financial services provider.

Your Role

As a Junior Systems Administrator, you will help the Operations Center (OC) team provide 24x7x365 technical support to mission critical systems. You will promptly respond to telephone calls, voice mails and emails. You will meet SLA deadlines & deliverables. You will accept responsibility and personal accountability.

This position is part of the Citco Technology Management (IT Operations) and reports to the Operations Center Manager.

Principal Accountabilities

System Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

  • You will be responsible for monitoring global IT infrastructure to address day-to-day system performance and ensure smooth operation of hardware and software systems.
  • Assist in identifying underlying cause and provide immediate technical support to prevent technical issues from escalating
  • Setup baseline configuration on all platforms to ensure systems are under monitoring and in asset inventory.
  • You will be responsible for batch process monitoring

Hardware And Software Maintenance

  • Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software systems, including upgrades and routine patch deployment on all platforms, on-premises and in the Cloud.
  • You will log calls and liaise with vendors for hardware break/fix support.
  • You will work with local IT, Datacenter Operations and other functional teams within ITOps Department.

Backup and Disaster Recovery

  • You will perform operational activities as per the predetermined work schedules, including multiplatform database backups / restores, remote tape operations, backup monitoring and administration using Veritas Netbackup.
  • You will participate in Disaster Recovery exercises in the Data Centers and Local Offices in preparation for a true DR scenario.

About You

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
  • 1-3 years of server administration experience running RHEL or other Unix flavors and Windows Servers 2016/2019/2022
  • Knowledge of/Experience in Windows 2016-2022 is a plus.
  • Knowledge of/Experience in AWS is a plus.
  • Knowledge of/Experience in hardware and software configuration
  • Knowledge of/Experience in Veritas Netbackup and backup responsibilities (restores, create jobs, troubleshooting)
  • Knowledge of Network and Database systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge or familiarity with DX NetOps Spectrum, CA Autosys, Nagios, VMware is a plus.
  • IT Scripting knowledge is a plus.
  • Demonstrate a self-directed approach to learning; pursue professional development.
  • Take personal ownership (going beyond assigned tasks to make a project better, identify and reports issues, demonstrate strong concern for client and initiatives).
  • Willingness to assist fellow team members is a must.
  • Demonstrate use of professional judgment on the job.
  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication with customers, IT team members including managers and peers.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and changing priorities. Must be able to work in high-pressure environment, sometimes independently and sometimes as part of a project team.
  • Flexibility and ability to deal with change and flexibility in work schedule according to project and business needs.
  • Perform other technical duties as assigned.
