The role will lead a team ensuring inventory costs are properly accounted for, inventory management controls are consistently complied with and risks associated are timely assessed and managed. This post will partner with key stakeholders to attain inventory management metrics and goals. The role will extend global support to APAC, LATAM, CAN, EU and US Asurion entities.

The role will lead a team ensuring inventory costs are properly accounted for, inventory management controls are consistently complied with and risks associated are timely assessed and managed. This post will partner with key stakeholders to attain inventory management metrics and goals. The role will extend global support to APAC, LATAM, CAN, EU and US Asurion entities.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage and lead team members by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
- Oversee team activities ensuring timely delivery of Service Level Agreement to clientele. Act as escalation point, manage complaints, own quality of service and is responsible for tracking and reporting on service level performance
- Responsible for the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan of the team including internal back-up plan
- Drive financial performance by identifying and measuring key drivers, developing and/or participating in the development of relevant financial processes, and working with colleagues throughout Asurion to improve and manage the business unit's performance. Scope includes:
- Institutionalize cost-effective data accumulation systems needed to provide an appropriate level of costing information to management and concerned internal & external parties.
- Aid in the development of informational and reporting tools, and provide financial and business support to management, operations & other internal customers.
- Implement & maintain a comprehensive inventory accounting process including the review and standardization of inventory transactions & reports across regions.
- Manage inventory costing activities including, but not limited to: proper product cost roll-up, price/cost change analysis - standard cost and related cost variance, LOH allocation & cost trend analysis
- Participate in the month-end closing process, Scope includes:
- Review costing reports and inventory reconciliations and ensure timely delivery to intended recipients.
- Provide meaningful analytical reports encompassing various inventory, COGS analysis and ad hoc reports critical to management decision-making.
- Partner with department owners to assess inventory risk, setup necessary reserves and provide support to Supply Chain team to identify depletion plan. Constantly revisit reserve calculation methodology to adopt to business changes.
- Drive to attain audit compliant environment by implementing right and tight controls on inventory management and costing. Aim to comply with appropriate generally accepted accounting principles and government requirements.
- Collaborate with cross functional partners, such as Operations, Technology, Legal, and FP&A, to provide accounting compliant solutions. Communicate the accounting implication to stakeholders at all levels.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, project implementations to create a broader depth and range of analytical and business support capability.
- Be the subject matter expert for inventory accounting to support clients across regions.
- Interact positively and pro-actively between departments, internal customers to accomplish ASC and Asurion goals.
- Support ASC management on ad hoc requests.
Degree in Finance & Accounting
Experiences, Skillsets & Personal Competencies
- 10+ year of experience in Finance and Accounting with strong background on Inventory and Cost.
- Experience in the wireless, high tech, manufacturing, or insurance industry
- Preferably a CPA
- Strong Exposure in the following is preferred: Cost Accounting, Financial Systems Understanding, Finance Audit, General Accounting, Account Reconciliation and Business Partnering
