Instructor I - Chemistry

Position Summary: The Instructor I for Chemistry will teach undergraduate courses in chemistry, focusing on areas such as general chemistry, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, and analytical chemistry. The instructor will prepare and deliver lectures, develop laboratory experiments, and assess student performance. A strong commitment to fostering a dynamic learning environment and the ability to effectively communicate complex chemical concepts to students are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach undergraduate chemistry courses, incorporating both theoretical and practical components.
• Develop and update course materials, including syllabi, lectures, and laboratory exercises.
• Conduct laboratory sessions, demonstrating techniques and supervising student experiments.
• Assess and grade assignments, exams, and lab reports to evaluate student understanding.
• Provide academic support and mentorship to students, fostering their interest in chemistry.
• Stay informed about advancements in the field of chemistry and integrate relevant updates into the curriculum.
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development and assessment efforts.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Strong understanding of core chemistry concepts and laboratory practices.
• Prior teaching experience is an advantage.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.
