Job Description
We’re an award-winning global outsourcer providing contact centre and back office services on behalf of our global clients. As the ICT Systems and Network Generalist, your role is vital in contributing to our organization’s growth and success.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR ROLE
Your Day-to-day Activities May Include The Following
- Working with other teams and stakeholders to build key solutions for Acquire.
- Serves as Level 2 escalation for support requirements.
- Adherence to key security and asset handling principles.
- Administers, supporting and maintenance of:
- Enterprise Compute and storage hardware
- Linux systems
- Applications
- Patching, upgrades, feature enablement etc.
- Network support as required.
- Firewall support as required.
- Support and configuration of Acquires systems and other key services.
- Spearheads troubleshooting and identifying recurring problems with the root cause analysis of the devices in scope.
- Responsible for Realtime proactive monitoring of Server, storage and related services.
- Scheduling, performing, and maintaining backups and responsible for backup/recovery procedures.
a Bit About You
- General Experience on Linux, Firewalls, Windows, network Switches/Routers, etc.
- Knowledge on various software and applications. Installing, testing, configuring, customizing and maintaining various operating systems and associated software.
- Knowledge on Troubleshooting applications.
- Datacentre / Comms/Server room management to Acquires standards. (Environmental, UPS monitoring etc)
- Knowledge of at least one backup platform
- Understanding of backup process, system monitoring, performance tuning, disaster recovery, and scripting/automation for Linux based OS.
- Technical knowledge and experience on server technologies.
- Ability to follow, document, and maintain standard procedures.
- Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to respond to requests for technical assistance via phone and through other electronic means.
- Technical discipline to effectively perform routine assignments as well as applied knowledge of established procedures, policies and practices.
- Ability to diagnose the cause of a problem in a complex environment and provide effective solutions quickly.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
- Must possess a strong commitment to high-quality customer service.
- Self-motivated with ability to work on multiple complex projects at a time.
- Willing to work variable shifts including evening, weekends and public holidays.
- Assisting other teams to achieve business outcomes as required.
- Uptime/compliance of Systems looked after.
- All projects delivered on time and all targets set per project is met.
- Achievement of KPIs.
