What You'll Do

As Head of Architecture, you will be entrusted with significant responsibility for guiding the direction of technology initiatives across the organisation.

• Promote strong collaboration within the Enterprise Architecture Team so that Technology Architecture is always in harmony with the broader architectural vision of the organisation.
• Develop an inspiring and actionable technology roadmap that sets out clear steps towards innovation and operational excellence across all areas of the business.
• Establish comprehensive Technology Architecture Standards for both on-premise infrastructure and cloud-based solutions, ensuring these standards are consistently applied throughout the organisation.
• Maintain detailed repositories of design artefacts while conducting regular compliance audits to guarantee adherence to established architectural guidelines.
• Prepare and deliver insightful reports and updates to Senior Management, Executive Management, and the Board as required, supporting informed decision-making at every level.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to identify key projects that will help achieve the target architecture outlined in the technology roadmap.
• Champion best practices in documentation and implementation processes so that every project benefits from clarity, consistency, and quality assurance.
• Support ongoing professional development within your team by identifying skills gaps and facilitating access to relevant training resources.
• Monitor emerging trends in technology architecture to ensure the organisation remains at the forefront of industry developments.
  
  

What You Bring

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering or a related discipline is essential; holding a postgraduate qualification would be considered advantageous.
• Possession of TOGAF certification is beneficial but not mandatory for this position.
• At least ten years’ experience in technology architecture, server or network management, or cloud management is required.
• A minimum of five years’ direct involvement in technology architecture roles is expected, including at least three years spent managing or supervising teams.
• Familiarity with banking or similar regulated industries would be helpful but is not strictly necessary for success in this role.
• Demonstrated ability to establish architectural standards for both on-premise systems and cloud environments is highly valued.
• Proven track record in maintaining design artefact repositories as well as conducting thorough compliance audits within large organisations.
• Excellent communication skills are needed for preparing impactful reports and engaging effectively with senior stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams as well as external vendors on complex technical projects is important.
