At The Moment, This Role Is Focused On

• Preparing and submitting annual statutory financial statements for multiple Canva entities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and full compliance with local requirements.
• Leading audit readiness initiatives through robust processes, clear documentation, and alignment with local accounting standards.
• Supporting our Regional Accounting Team by interpreting local GAAP and identifying key differences, then communicating them across the business.
• Managing external accounting and audit partners on complex technical positions and ensuring smooth collaboration.
• Delivering audit requirements and financial data with speed, clarity, and precision.
• Collaborating with Canva’s broader finance teams—core accounting, regional accounting, and tax—to drive aligned reporting outcomes.
  
  
  

You're Probably a Match If

• You have relevant accounting experience, ideally in a professional services or corporate finance environment with audit and statutory reporting exposure.
• You have a solid understanding local GAAP regulations
• You thrive in ambiguity and love untangling complexity—especially in accounting treatments and jurisdictional nuances.
• You’ve got top-notch communication skills and can break down technical concepts clearly for non-finance teams.
• You’re a strong collaborator. You will work closely with the Sydney Head Office Finance team, as well as collaborating with our local finance teams in various jurisdictions

The Accounting team is part of the Finance Supergroup at Canva and plays a critical role in ensuring our reporting and compliance are world-class as we scale globally. We work cross-functionally with tax, FP&A, and business teams to keep our numbers tight and our decisions informed. Every Canvanaut depends on us to help keep Canva on track to meet our crazy big goals.
