Position SummaryThe Finance Manager oversees all financial activities of the two WF entities in the Philippines (WF Asia and WF Manila Branch) and ensures alignment with the overall financial strategy set by the global headquarters. This role includes managing, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls.
The Finance Manager works closely with both the local and global senior management and finance teams to ensure sound financial management, sustainable growth, and compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.
Financial Strategy & Planning
- Develops and implements financial strategies in line with corporate goals and policies.
- Leads the annual budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring alignment with headquarters’ directives.
- Monitors financial performance and provides actionable insights to senior leadership.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepares accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analysis for both local management and the headquarters.
- Ensures compliance with internal reporting standards and accounting principles (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
Cost Optimization & Performance Improvement
- Identifies opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements across financial and operational processes.
- Works closely with local management to implement initiatives that enhance profitability and operational performance.
- Provides recommendations to both local management and headquarters to support strategic decision-making and overall financial health.
- Monitors the impact of implemented measures and adjusts strategies as needed to drive continuous improvement.
Audit Management
- Manages the annual and interim external audit processes for both entities in coordination with auditors and headquarters.
- Ensures timely preparation and submission of audit requirements.
- Addresses audit findings and ensures corrective actions are implemented.
- Ensures timely issuance of audited financial statements for both entities as per the headquarters’ set deadline.
Head Office Coordination
- Serves as the primary finance department’s liaison to the headquarters.
- Ensures timely submission of all required financial reports and documentation to the head office.
- Implements head office financial policies, controls, and procedures at the local/branch level.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Maintains robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Coordinates with regulatory bodies as required.
- Manages tax planning, filing, and compliance with local laws and headquarters’ requirements.
Team Leadership
- Leads and mentors the local finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, integrity, and constant improvement.
- Conducts regular performance reviews, training, and professional development initiatives.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Oversees cash flow planning, working capital, and treasury operations to ensure financial stability.
- Manages banking transactions and maintains professional relationships with banks to optimize liquidity in line with group policies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Preferably with a Master’s degree and /or CPA/ACCA.
- Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive financial management experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, corporate finance, and accounting principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially for cross-functional and cross-border collaboration
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAGE 50, SAGE X3).
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
