A Finance Manager responsible for overseeing the Finance & Accounting Department this includes analyzing financial activity on a daily basis and provides advice and guidance to upper management on future financial plans.
This responsibility includes and is not limited to ensuring the day to day operations in the finance and accounting department such as reviewing financial statements, monitoring accounts, and preparing financial forecasts. Set the departmental goals and objectives, design or improve process frameworks and controls posture.
The Finance Manager has years of deep practical experience in the finance and accounting management role, with repeated practice managing the teams in a variety of complex situations both in the project and people management.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Management Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements.
• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAA) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Provide financial analysis and reports to support decision-making.
• Analyse financial data and trends to provide insights for management decisions.
• Assist in financial modelling and strategic planning.
• Forecast cash flow positions and funds for investments.
• Ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements, if needed.
• Participate in strategic data analysis, research, and modelling for the company’s senior leadership.
Operational Effectiveness
• Monitor day-to-day financial operations within the company, i.e. account receivable, account payable and other transactions.
• Collaborate with senior management to develop and monitor annual budgets and forecasts.
• Analyse budget variances and provide recommendation for cost control.
• Oversee tax planning and compliance.
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns.
• Stay updated on changes in tax regulations and advise on tax optimization strategies.
• Establish and maintain internal control procedures to safeguards company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Conduct internal audits and implement improvement, as necessary.
• Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
• Address audit findings and implement recommendations.
• Manage relationships with financial vendors, such as banks and auditors.
• Interact with clients, providing financial information and addressing inquiries.
Process Improvement:
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency.
• Implement best practices in accounting and financial reporting.
• Find a solution to automate financial reporting system.
• Maintain up-to-date financial system knowledge.
Staff Development:
• Supervise and mentor a team of accountants, ensuring their professional development.
• Assign tasks and set performance goals for team members.
