Job Description
The Environment, Health and Safety Officer shall report directly to the Head of Administrative Services and will be tasked with ensuring full and proactive compliance with the mandates of key regulatory bodies including the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA), Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and various government units or agencies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitoring and interpreting government regulations and ensuring company-wide implementation.
- Driving compliance and sustainability initiatives across all facilities and business operations.
- Proactively prepare for new or updated regulations.
- Producing management reports and compliance dashboards.
- Establishing systems and controls aimed at achieving zero penalties from regulatory bodies.
- Set up the structure and operating framework of the EHS Section.
- Provide technical guidance and best practices.
- Support compliance reviews and gap assessments. Collaborate with SBU/Ps PIC for EHS program implementation and execution
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, Public Health, Chemistry, or related disciplines.
- Solid knowledge of Philippine occupational safety and environmental regulations (DOLE, OSHC, DENR, LGU).
- Experience in monitoring regulatory compliance across multiple sites, conducting risk assessments and internal audits, preparing reports, dashboards, and compliance documentation.
- Background in compliance work in retail, industrial, or service environments is a plus.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills to drive compliance initiatives and executions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, especially for coordination with government agencies and internal stakeholders.
- Proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, especially when navigating new or changing regulations.
- Highly organized, with attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Completion of 40-hour Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) Training (Safety Officer 2 level or higher).
- Certified DOLE-accredited OSH Practitioner.
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards is an advantage but not required.
