BUREAU VERITAS IN THE PHILIPPINES

Bureau Veritas Philippines was established in 1994 with a lean team of seven people mostly surveyors for the Marine & Offshore business unit. In the late 90s, the Certification Team was established together with other Business Units such as the Government Services and International Trade Group. Inspectorate Philippines became part of the BV Group in the Philippines in 2010 and formed BV’s Commodities Services. In 2016, the Buildings & Infrastructure services business unit was introduced in the Philippines, and within five years, the B&I revenue stream has become one of the top revenue earners of BV Philippines and is now considered a partner of choice of large real estate and property developers in the country. Today, Bureau Veritas Philippines has over 450 employees and growing.

Position Overview:

As an Energy Auditor, you will play a critical role in assessing energy usage and identifying opportunities for improvement within our clients’ facilities. You will leverage your expertise as a licensed engineer and an accredited Certified Energy Auditor of the Department of Energy (DOE) to deliver comprehensive energy audits, training, and strategic recommendations that align with industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Energy Audits: Conduct thorough energy audits of commercial and industrial facilities to assess energy consumption patterns, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements to enhance energy performance.
  • Training and Education: Confidently deliver training, seminars, and webinars on energy efficiency practices, energy management systems, and relevant regulations to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all audits and recommendations comply with local and national energy efficiency regulations, including the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act (RA 11285).
  • EnMS Implementation: Guide the implementation of Energy Management Systems (EnMS) by ISO 50001 standards, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in energy management.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and management, to implement energy-saving initiatives and track their effectiveness.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed audit reports outlining findings, actionable recommendations, and potential cost savings for clients, ensuring clarity and professionalism.
  • Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their energy needs and providing tailored solutions to enhance their energy performance.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Engineer (Electrical or Mechanical) with relevant accreditation.
  • Accredited Certified Energy Auditor of the Department of Energy (DOE).
  • Confident in giving trainings, seminars, or webinars on energy efficiency and management topics.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex data and translate findings into actionable strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with clients and team members.

Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have):

  • Background in Energy Management Systems (EnMS) and ISO 50001.
  • Familiarity with the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act (RA 11285).
  • Accredited Certified Energy Manager of the Department of Energy (DOE).
