The UX Designer will play a critical role in maintaining and evolving the Infor Design System (IDS), ensuring consistency, usability, and scalability across our global suite of enterprise applications. This position focuses on auditing existing design components, implementing enhancements, and collaborating with development teams to deliver high-quality, user-centered designs. The designer must be detail-oriented, highly collaborative, and passionate about design systems and user experience within an Agile environment.
A day in the life of a UX/UI Designer typically includes:
• Start the day by reviewing JIRA tasks, prioritizing work, and sharing at the daily standup.
• Update design system components, patterns, guidelines, and other supporting documentation.
• Conduct audits of the design system to identify inconsistencies and log necessary tickets for fixes or updates.
• Consult with product teams on designing using IDS and recommended UX improvements.
• Collaborate with peers and escalate to lead designers for alignment on complex design decisions.
• Prepare detailed Figma handoff documentation and ensure developer tickets include all required assets.
• Share progress updates and escalate risks and blockers appropriately.
Responsibilities:
• Contribute to the evolution and governance of the Infor design system by introducing scalable solutions and maintaining component integrity across applications.
• Ensure design system consistency through proactive audits and implementation of improvements to align with UX standards.
• Partner with product teams to provide actionable UX recommendations that align with business objectives and user needs.
• Foster collaboration with global design and development teams to achieve cohesive, user-centric experiences.
• Deliver comprehensive design documentation and specifications to support efficient and accurate development handoff.
• Promote clear, timely communication of project status, potential risks, and blockers across distributed teams.
What You Will Need?
Basic Qualification:
• Minimum of 4-5 years of professional experience in a UX or UI design role within a software development environment.
• Demonstrated experience leveraging, contributing to, or maintaining design systems.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Proficiency in Figma.
• Strong understanding of UX and design principles, user-centered design methodologies, and best practices in product design.
• Strong attention to detail combined with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Amendable to report onsite 3x a week.
What Will Put You Ahead?
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):
• Working knowledge of agile processes and familiarity with tools such as JIRA for task management.
• Basic understanding of front-end development concepts (HTML5, CSS).
• Understanding of UX research, including preparing and conducting interviews, creating personas, and mapping customer journeys.
• Experience working in global teams and with distributed team members across various time zones.
• Familiarity with documenting design patterns and contributing to design system governance.
