Data Visualization Engineer

We are looking for Data Visualization Engineering Consultant!

Acts as a technical lead and main person for the team on design and development of tools and best practices used in analytics data management including but not limited to SAS, Azure Cloud, other data warehouses, data lakes, and data hubs.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Leads the design, development and implementation of Business Intelligence Solutions in the CoE
• Demonstrates a good understanding of business requirements and translating these into technical specifications.
• Responsible for the overall design, implementation and maintenance of the BI Infrastructure in coordination with best practices and infrastructure standards.
• Designs the data model of the semantic layer based on BI requirements.
• Designs and creates visualizations and dashboards to enable business decisions based on defined business requirements.
• Leads BI developments of developers in different on-shore / off-shore centres
• Manages the execution of user acceptance testing.
• Maintains appropriate documentation for BI solutions.
• Prepares training materials and conduct training to end users on BI solution and tools.
• Develops detailed project plan to monitor and track the progress on all initiatives – ensuring these are all delivered on time.
• Conducts feasibility studies and cost benefits analysis on business intelligence tools.
• Coordinates with software vendors and manage their quality delivery as needed
• Ensures regular communication with AIA Group Offices and local business units.
• Maintains and support sproduction system changes.
• Defines BI standards and best practices.

Minimum Job Requirements:

General Qualifications:

• Willingness and desire to learn new environment and tools and advance your knowledge. Keeps up to data with new research and integrated applications in data science field.
• Able to work with loosely defined requirements and exercise analytical skills to clarify questions, share methodology/approach, and build/test solutions.

Technical Skills:

• 7-10 years of relevant experience in designing, building and system testing of data visualization reports
• Hands-on 3-5 years experience in designing and building Power BI mandatory (using M language and DAX) mandatory
• SQL skills, including database and report optimization analysis
• Strong understanding of data modeling and data warehouse / data marts / data lake designs
• Good knowledge of management data reporting systems. Related experience in insurance industry or financial services preferred
• Must understand how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
• Power BI certification is an advantage.
