Job Description

We’re looking for a Compliance Specialist to join our team at MBPS. In this role, you are expected to support AML/ATF and programs administered by the Global CAMLO Office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform AML/ATF (Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorist Financing) and sanctions name screening to support the onboarding and transaction compliance approval process for Group Functions
  • Provide support in AML/ATF related regulatory reporting (e.g. OSFI 525/590)
  • Coordinate the collection of monthly sanctions metrics and collate results for regulatory reporting
  • Provide support in the annual risk and controls assessment process
  • Maintaining the country risk list through monthly and ad hoc research, updates, publishing and communications to all segments

Qualifications

  • Experience in Compliance and Financial Services: 4-6 years of experience in the financial services sector, preferably in compliance (AML/ATF, sanctions, or audit), is essential. Experience with regulatory reporting, analytics, and familiarity with compliance technology (e.g., Bridger/FCRM) is preferred.
  • Educational Background and Certifications: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Business, or Legal is required. A professional certification in Compliance or AML, such as CAMS, is an advantage.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft productivity tools such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint is necessary. Experience with generative AI and prompting, as well as metrics consolidation and analysis, is preferred.
  • Analytical and Risk Assessment Skills: Knowledge of testing and risk assessment processes is advantageous. The ability to independently conduct analysis and testing, including watchlist regression testing and key risk indicator reporting, is important.
  • Communication and Documentation Skills: Fluent English reading and writing skills are required. Strong communication skills are needed for reporting, vendor relationship management, and responding to compliance-related inquiries. Experience in process documentation is beneficial.
