This position is placed in the Compliance & Operational Control department, which is part of Vestas Shared Services A/S - ROHQ under the CFO organization. This position will report to the Head of Compliance in SSC based in Manila.

The department identifies and mitigates risks to financial reporting. The team's objectives are to have internal processes and controls in place, ensure mitigation of financial and operational risks, facilitate and support effective audit engagements, and create awareness and understanding of finance processes and controls.

Responsibilities

The compliance associate will be responsible for the following:

  • Understanding the process, including the relevant standards, policies and procedures
  • Reviewing and understanding the controls and creating the test plans
  • Planning and scheduling of the testing activity
  • Testing the controls based on a defined risk-based sampling methodology
  • Tracking the progress of testing activity based on the plan
  • Maintaining supporting documentation for the testing performed
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of control design and execution
  • Identifying any deficiencies and recording the results
  • Reporting the results of control testing in a timely manner
  • Assisting with root cause and risk analysis for gaps and deficiencies identified
  • Reviewing controls and test plans at least annually or on a periodic basis to identify missing controls or test attributes
  • Evaluating proposed solutions and action plans to address deficiencies and issues
  • Monitoring the closure of action plans to address deficiencies identified
  • Reviewing the controls testing program on a periodic basis to identify improvement areas in the testing activity design and procedures
  • Assist in controls and external audit-related engagements and activities

Qualifications

  • College Graduate/ degree holder
  • Accounting, finance, or audit experience
  • CPA is beneficial
  • Two years of relevant work experience in controls or audit
  • Have developed computer skills - Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint

Competencies

  • Highly methodological and detail-oriented
  • Have a proficient process design orientation, a skilled ability to identify risk exposures, and a keen ability to identify risk prevention and risk mitigating solutions
  • Should be capable of dealing with highly personal, confidential information and should possess an unquestionable sense of integrity
  • Possess organization, priority setting, deadline management, persuasion, and follow-through skills
  • Have good interpersonal skills to be able to work as part of a cross-functional team, both local and regional
  • Able to deal with a diverse group of individuals at practically all levels of the organization
  • Have good oral and written communication skills and be able to conduct training and presentation sessions to various audiences
