UCT is looking for a talented CNC Programmer to join us in Cebu!

The CNC Programmer is responsible for the efficient and accurate programming of CNC turret punches and lasers, utilizing advanced CAD/CAM software. This role requires proficiency in modeling and creating flat layouts for a variety of sheet metal components, tubular frames, and mechanical assemblies. The ideal candidate will possess mid-level design skills and demonstrate the ability to interpret customer-supplied blueprints and 3D models to develop precise CNC programs. Key responsibilities include ensuring adherence to specified dimensions and tolerance levels in finished products, as well as analyzing, proposing, and implementing process improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency and quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilize SolidWorks software for advanced 3D modeling and creation of precise flat layouts for sheet metal components.
  • Develop and optimize CNC programs for Turrets, Lasers, and Press Brakes
  • Analyze and interpret customer-supplied engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Utilize industry-standard G-code programming language to create manufacturing instructions.
  • Ensure programs generate components that meet:
  • Exact dimensional requirements
  • Specified tolerances
  • Desired surface finish
  • Quality standards for the final product
  • Create precise, efficient, and reliable programming solutions.
  • Utilize SolidWorks software for advanced 3D modeling and creation of precise flat layouts for sheet metal components.
  • Proficiently operate CAD/CAM software to generate G-Code for CNC turrets and lasers, leveraging Trumpf's TruTops Boost for optimized programming
  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, including CNC turret and laser operations, forming techniques, hardware insertion, and welding methodologies.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to determine optimal manufacturing methods and develop comprehensive supporting documentation.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of job routers, ensuring accuracy in operation sequencing, material utilization, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Perform critical analysis of engineering drawings and proposed manufacturing methods to identify potential issues, communicating findings clearly and proposing viable solutions.
  • Consistently meet or exceed project deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Proactively identify, develop, and implement innovative concepts and ideas to drive continuous improvement in processes and methodologies.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and undertake additional responsibilities as required to support overall department and organizational objectives.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in precision sheet metal fabrication
  • Understanding of quality control processes and tolerances in manufacturing
  • Advanced understanding of mechanical engineering principles, particularly in sheet metal fabrication
  • Skilled in interpreting complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
  • Adept at troubleshooting and resolving programming and manufacturing issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software tools.
  • Ability to translate complex designs into efficient manufacturing processes.
  • Capability to optimize production workflows for improved efficiency and quality.
  • Aptitude for quickly learning and adapting to new technologies and software in the field.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional departments.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and make decisions that improve production outcomes.
  • Ability to train and mentor junior team members in CNC programming and design techniques.

Educational/Certification Requirement:

  • Engineering degree required with 2-5 years’ experience or equivalent.

Experience Requirement:

Work Experience:

  • 2-5 years’ precision sheet metal experience.
