Job Description

The Cloud FinOps team plays an important role in optimizing cloud spend for BCG's multi-cloud ecosystem. We are responsible for cloud cost transparency, visualizations, reporting and communicating cloud cost business value for BCG.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Our ideal candidate will be a top-tier FinOps Analyst demonstrating outstanding abilities to engage, support, and advise internal customers on their public cloud journey, helping them raise their cost optimization game.

The candidate will have FinOps experience or a cloud engineering background with a proven technical understanding of public cloud products and services balanced with strong analytical, collaborative, and communication skills. As well as being a team-player and self-starter with agile learning abilities and a bias to doing the right thing. Attention to detail, good listening skills, and the ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical partners are desired qualifications!

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON:

• Your deep knowledge of public cloud services, including their cost structure and technical use cases, will pair with your keen analytic abilities to help our DevOps squads strike the best mix of cost, quality, and performance.
• You will develop an intimate knowledge of our Global Technology domains allowing you to produce valuable data for forecasting, show back, charge back, and variance analysis.
• You will advise internal customers on tagging, metadata, policy compliance, while improving on BCG"s overall cloud maturity.
• Your interpersonal skills will help you guide your internal customers through demand management and oversight controls.
• You will contribute to the development and iterative improvement of our data reporting, visualization, and policy-as-code products.
  
  

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH:

• You will report to the Director of Cloud FinOps, partner with the Lead Cloud FinOps Analyst, and work closely with our dedicated team of DevOps engineers and FinOps analysts.
• You will engage with leaders, analysts, engineers, developers, and other key members of BCG's Global Technology domains, as well as Finance and Accounting partners.
• The visibility of cloud spend will provide occasional opportunities to present to senior technology and business leaders.
• We encourage all members of Global Technology to take advantage of developer and engineering community groups, participate in engineering forums, and join social & professional networks that foster career growth.

Job Requirements

WHAT YOU BRING:

In addition to the requirements described above, successful candidates will exhibit the following:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT (or Finance with a strong acumen in IT) related discipline or a combination of equivalent relevant education, training and experience
• Solid grasp of public cloud provider platforms and services (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Demonstrated knowledge of public cloud provider billing methods and concepts
• Strong Business Analyst Skill Set
• Proficiency using third-party or cloud-native cloud cost reporting products and tools (e.g. CloudHealth, Cloudability, Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Mgmt+Billing)
• Working knowledge of financial close activities and accounting principles
• 3+ years of analyzing, forecasting, and reporting cloud spend (cash flow & amortized)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with business and technical leaders, teams, and squads
• Strong Tableau or PowerBi Dashboarding skills
• Expert in Microsoft Excel
• Superior investigation skills - needs to be able to work independently to find needed data
• The following qualifications are preferred, but not required:
• FinOps certification
• Public cloud provider certification(s)
