Job Summary
An Accounting Cashier in an automotive dealership is responsible for handling financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting both the accounting and service departments. This role often serves as a bridge between customers, service advisors, and the finance team.
Key Responsibilities
Process Payments: Receive payments for vehicle purchases, repairs, parts, and services via cash, credit card, or check.
Reconcile Transactions: Match payments with invoices, issue receipts, and balance the cash drawer daily.
Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate logs of financial transactions, refunds, and adjustments.
Customer Interaction: Answer billing inquiries, explain charges, and redirect calls to appropriate departments.
Invoice Management: Print and distribute invoices, resolve billing discrepancies, and assist with end-of-day reports.
Front Desk Duties: Keep cashier area organized, assist with clerical tasks, and support customer service efforts.
Qualifications
Education - College level or College Graduate
Experience - 1 to 2 years of experience in cashiering, accounting, or customer service preferred
Familiarity with dealership operations or automotive services is advantageous
Skills
Computer Proficiency: Comfortable using POS systems, accounting software, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
Math Skills: Able to calculate totals, discounts, and change accurately
Customer Service: Courteous, professional, and responsive to customer needs
Attention to Detail: Precise in handling transactions and reconciling accounts
Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills
