Carbon Management Associate

With the goal of inspiring action and fueling change, Basecheck is dedicated to helping MSMEs, private corporations, NGOs, and government units around the country find effective and creative ways to make managing and calculating GHG emissions easy for everyone. Basecheck helps clients on their carbon management journey to help them move forward with purpose.

Responsibilities

• Advises clients in their sustainability strategy on the basis of benchmarks and environmental assessment methodologies, focusing on GHG accounting.
• Reviews and calculates the client's GHG emissions based on their reports and activity data
• Communicates and assists the sustainability department in analyzing and interpreting data
• Develops materials for capacity-building activities, such as primers or presentations
• Effectively and proactively communicates with client and internal teams to deliver on the project deliverables
• Remains updated on developments of standards and protocols for GHG Accounting
• Searches, recommends, and attends relevant training to refine the Carbon Management team’s services

Qualifications

• Has 2-3 years of working in the fields of sustainability and environmental science, particularly in auditing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and carbon accounting methodologies.
• Experience in auditing GHG emissions for corporations and Certification as a carbon auditor using the ISO 14064 standard is an advantage
• Familiar with climate financing pathways and disclosures and developing offsetting strategies for carbon emissions
• Familiar with the GRI Standards reporting framework and other sustainability reporting frameworks
• Detail-oriented, transparent, accountable, and adaptable to working in a fast-paced collaborative environment
