Business Analytics Specialist
Position Purpose
The Business Analytics Specialist is tasked with converting data into actionable insights that guide strategic decision-making across the organization. This role involves conducting in-depth data analysis and establishing robust reporting mechanisms to monitor important metrics effectively. By crafting and maintaining user-friendly dashboards, the specialist ensures that customers have access to accurate and timely data.
The specialist works on both routine and occasional market analyses, using advanced analytical skills to produce valuable insights and enable data-driven discussions. Working with collaborators, the specialist handles inquiries and offers training to improve user skills in analytics tools, promoting a culture of data literacy within the organization.
By using analytical expertise and collaboration skills, the specialist aligns data strategies with business objectives.

Business Analytics Specialist
Position Purpose
The Business Analytics Specialist is tasked with converting data into actionable insights that guide strategic decision-making across the organization. Main Areas of Responsibility
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Conduct in-depth analyses of various data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions.
- Analyze large volumes of data to derive meaningful insights.
- Generate and maintain detailed reports to track important metrics.
- Present findings to collaborators in an understandable manner.
- Design, enhance, and maintain dashboards to ensure accurate and timely delivery of critical metrics.
- Monitor SQL script execution, refresh dashboards as needed, and ensure data integrity while managing user access.
- Develop and optimize dashboards for effective data visualization.
- Monitor and implement SQL scripts to ensure timely data updates.
- Manage user access to dashboards while maintaining data security.
- Support the preparation of regular and ad-hoc market analyses by writing SQL queries to extract and prepare data sets.
- Create compelling visualizations in Power BI, Excel, or PowerPoint to facilitate quick analysis and decision-making.
- Write and optimize SQL queries to generate necessary data sets.
- Create self-explanatory visualizations for clear communication of insights.
- Collaborate with teams to align analysis with business objectives.
- Engage with collaborators to respond to questions about dashboards and data sources.
- Provide training sessions to users on dashboard functionality and data interpretation, fostering a deeper understanding of analytics within the organization.
- Address collaborator questions regarding current and new dashboards.
- Conduct training sessions to enhance user proficiency in analytics tools.
- Foster collaborative relationships to support data-driven decision-making.
- Regularly review existing processes, SQL scripts, and dashboards to find opportunities for optimization.
- Collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams to implement changes that enhance data accuracy and reduce maintenance requirements.
- Evaluate current systems and processes for efficiency improvements.
- Work with vendors to ensure high-quality project delivery and support.
- Propose and implement enhancements to existing reports and dashboards.
- Bachelor's degree in an analytical field (Mathematics, Statistics, Economics) or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of proven experience in Business Intelligence, Finance, or any other Analytical function (preferably in the FMCG industry).
- Strong work experience in Power BI dashboard and SQL script development and Microsoft tools including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge in other Microsoft products including Azure and other programming languages is a plus.
- Experience and knowledge in the tobacco industry is a plus.
- Fluent in both written and verbal English.
- Detail Orientation and Critical Thinking Demonstrates a commitment to data accuracy through meticulous validation processes and the ability to identify all relevant aspects of data integrity.
- Structured Approach Capable of establishing a solid foundation for data projects, ensuring they are sustainable with minimal maintenance requirements.
- Analytical Skills with Business Insight Proficient in transforming large volumes of data into clear, actionable insights and strategic business recommendations that drive decision-making.
- Data Management Skilled in extracting, manipulating, and analyzing data to fulfill ad-hoc requests efficiently.
- Experience in Data Analysis Background in analyzing data within contexts such as FMCG sales and distribution, as well as consumer and customer programs.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration and Collaborator Management Ability to build trust and foster collaboration across various functions to achieve common goals.
- Time and Resource Management Effectively manages time to meet deadlines while efficiently coordinating external resources as needed to complete tasks.
