A leading organisation in the SEAO region is seeking a Business Intelligence Lead to shape and execute its regional BI vision, driving data-driven decision-making across multiple business units. This pivotal role bridges business strategy with advanced analytics, transforming complex datasets into actionable insights that fuel growth, operational efficiency, and commercial performance.

As a Business Intelligence Lead, your day-to-day responsibilities will centre around shaping the strategic direction of business intelligence within the SEAO cluster. You will be instrumental in developing impactful dashboards and reports that empower stakeholders at every level to make informed decisions.

• Lead the design and development of user-centric BI dashboards and reports using Power BI, ensuring they are both visually compelling and aligned with key business objectives.
• Partner with stakeholders across departments to understand their analytical needs, translating complex business questions into actionable data deliverables.
• Drive high-impact BI projects by managing timelines, deliverables, and effective communication among cross-functional teams.
• Champion efforts to integrate multiple data sources into a unified BI ecosystem that supports robust analytics and reporting capabilities.
• Collaborate with global teams to maintain and enhance tabular cube infrastructure while ensuring alignment with international standards for data quality and scalability.
• Support Spark-based data solutions, ELT pipeline design, Data Lake management, and other global initiatives aimed at advancing the organisation’s analytics maturity.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all BI-related issues, troubleshooting discrepancies quickly to minimise downtime and ensure reliable operations.
• Document learnings from issue resolution processes while liaising with global counterparts for continuous improvement.
• Establish best practices for BI development standards, governance frameworks, and quality assurance protocols across all analytics activities.
• Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making by embedding analytics into business planning workflows and promoting adoption through end-user training.
  
  

What You Bring

To excel as a Business Intelligence Lead in this organisation, you will bring substantial experience from previous roles focused on business intelligence or analytics—ideally within retail or consumer goods environments where actionable insights directly influence commercial outcomes. Your technical toolkit should include deep expertise in Power BI (especially DAX), strong programming abilities in SQL and Python, as well as hands-on familiarity with cloud-based platforms like Azure Synapse Analytics. Experience integrating SAP data or leveraging APIs will further strengthen your candidacy. Beyond technical acumen, your interpersonal skills will enable you to build trust with stakeholders at all levels—translating complex requirements into clear analytical outputs while providing guidance through training sessions. Your proven ability to manage cross-functional projects ensures timely delivery against ambitious goals while your commitment to documentation supports knowledge sharing across teams. Above all else, your passion for continuous improvement means you are always seeking ways to optimise processes so that analytics become an integral part of everyday decision-making throughout the organisation.

• 5–7 years’ experience in business intelligence, analytics or data engineering roles within retail, wholesale or consumer goods sectors is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to lead BI strategy or transformation projects that have delivered measurable improvements in decision-making or operational efficiency.
• Advanced proficiency in Power BI including DAX (using DAX Studio, Tabular Editor) for building sophisticated analytical models and reports.
• Strong coding skills in SQL and Python for data manipulation, analysis, and automation tasks within large-scale environments.
• Basic understanding of Azure Synapse Analytics (including Synapse Pipelines; Apache Spark for Synapse; Synapse Studio) as well as familiarity with other ETL tools used for modern data warehousing solutions.
• Working knowledge of SAP systems for integrating enterprise resource planning data into broader analytics platforms.
• Experience working with APIs for connecting disparate systems or automating data flows between applications.
• Advanced Excel skills including macros for rapid prototyping or ad hoc analysis requirements.
• Excellent communication skills in English at a business level for effective collaboration across multicultural teams.
• Proven track record of delivering end-user training sessions that drive adoption of new BI tools or processes.
