BI Developer

The job

The role of BI developer includes all aspects from analysis, specification, implementation and testing, until the final Power BI report is handed over to operations.

Our data platform is built in Azure with Azure Data Factory, Databricks and ADLS gen2, and we work on the platform through a self-developed metadata-driven framework. The solution is supported by version control/CICD pipelines. Data is exposed to colleagues/customers through Power BI.

You will be part of our team of BI developers, responsible for the data platform and the central reports that are used widely in the organization. There will also be a close dialogue with colleagues who are decentralized in the different divisions.

It is important that in addition to working with the data platform and Power BI, you also have a passion for learning about the business, as we focus on creating solutions that make a difference for our colleagues in the divisions. We have many systems, and understanding the business is a big part of the job.

In addition to having a structured approach to your work, it is important that you also want to embrace your colleagues, set direction and follow up from a technical perspective, so that the focus is not only on your own tasks.

Your qualifications and competencies

We assume that you have a relevant education in economics or IT and have at least 2 years of experience from a similar position.

The tasks will consist of building Power BI reports, but also maintaining and developing the underlying data platform. We therefore imagine that you have experience with as many of the following points as possible:

• Development of Datawarehouse/Lakehouse in Azure, e.g. Databricks, Synapse Analytics, Fabric or similar

• SQL and PySpark (or just Python in general)

• Delta Lake and SQL databases

• Development of Power BI reports

• DAX

• Dimensional data modeling, experience with RLS is a plus

• CICD pipelines and version control in general is a plus

• Retrieving data from APIs through custom scripts is a plus

It is not a requirement that you are an expert in all of the above disciplines, and you will want to have experienced colleagues you can spar with so that you can develop continuously.
