Your impact

At Jacobs, our Power Solutions team is geared towards providing a more integrated approach offering end-to-end service to support our clients in energy networks, thermal generation, renewable generation and storage solutions space. We are helping our clients meet the challenges faced in countries and cities across the globe, providing innovative solutions from replacing conventional thermal power plants with renewable energy to developing demand side management strategies.  

As the BESS Engineer, you will be responsible for working as part of our Energy and Power team in undertaking conceptual design and specification for BESS and other renewable energy plants/plants in conjunction with BESS, preparing feasibility studies, and establishing technical specifications and tender documents. In addition, the opportunity to be involved in construction-phase site inspections, perform quality reporting and progress reviews of operational sites, and maintain strong relationships with clients through successful project delivery and industry networking. With the equipped expertise, this role shall also contribute to business growth through the preparation of bids, networking, and business development.

Here's what you'll need

• Tertiary degree in Electrical / Civil / Mechanical Engineering, licensed is a plus
• Minimum 5 years’ experience, including 2 years in BESS
• Design management experience, preferably with some as Owner’s Rep or Owner’s Engineer
• Experience on Projects delivered by large Engineering Procurement and Construction Contractors
• Understands the typical schedule for design, manufacture, and construction of large BESS projects.
• Effectively interface with other Project delivery functions – Risk, Schedule, cost control, Health and Safety
• Proactive problem solver with a practical approach and experience managing a team
