DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES | About the role

Reporting directly to the Controller, North America, the Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and maintaining customer account records. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.

As the Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will:

• Generate and send out invoices to customers.
• Ensure invoices are accurate and comply with correct tax calculations.
• Work with the General Accountant to reconcile payments with outstanding invoices and resolve payment discrepancies, including tax calculation errors in invoices.
• Assist the credit and collection team in following up on overdue accounts.
• Build awareness on customers payment plans and multi-year deals when necessary.
• Gain understanding of the US sales tax laws and regulations.
• Understand tax exemptions, resale certificates, and compliance requirements.
• Collect tax exemptions and resale certificates and storage in Avalara.
• Maintain and update customer account records.
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or disputes.
• Prepare and analyze accounts receivable aging reports.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Work closely with the Accounting and Sales teams to ensure smooth financial transactions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  
  
  

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE | About you

The ideal Accounts Receivable Specialist:

• Undergraduate degree or experience in Finance / Accounting.
• 2-3 years of experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable or similar role.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software. NetSuite experience is a plus.
• Strong Excel and data entry skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
