                                                The Accounting Team Leader is responsible for supervising accountants in the execution of daily accounting operations, ensuring quality, timeliness, and compliance with financial reporting standards. The role oversees staff development, enforces accounting policies and internal controls, and ensures excellent customer service delivery.
Job Description
• Supervises accountants to ensure high performance, quality service, and adherence to deadlines.
• Leads daily operations related to financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
• Provides coaching, training, and mentoring to improve accounting practices and team productivity.
• Ensures proper implementation of internal controls, accounting policies, and operational procedures.
• Reviews workloads and assigns priorities to maintain efficiency and service coverage.
• Conducts regular staff evaluations and performance reviews to promote growth and accountability.
• Identifies and recommends process improvements that enhance accuracy and reporting timeliness.
• Assists in the setup of accounting books for new entities and conversion of financial records.
• Coordinates with auditors during annual audits, cash audits, and internal reviews.
• Ensures all accounting reports, including financial statements and reconciliations, are completed accurately and on time.
• Supports system maintenance, software updates, and troubleshooting for accounting tools.
• Provides customer service excellence and ensures client satisfaction in all accounting deliverables.
• Reports abnormalities or issues to the department head and takes corrective action promptly.
• Participates in the implementation of new accounting procedures, tools, and software.
Required Qualifications
• Experience using Microsoft Excel.
• Experience in financial reporting and general ledger management.
• Analyze financial data and translate it into actionable insights.
• Organizational, project management, and process optimization skills.
• Demonstrates strong leadership and mentoring capabilities to manage and motivate a team.
• Demonstrates strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrates accountability, sound judgment, and the ability to resolve issues independently.
• Leads through change and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear and coherent both written and verbal communication skills in English.
Screening Criteria
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience in accounting or financial reporting.
• Must have a stable employment history.
