The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for the support of the project accounting team as they manage of contracts throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Accountabilities

• Work done by an Accounting Assistant is done with the guidance of a Project Accountant or Senior Project Accountant and under the direct supervision of a Project Accounting Lead.
• A significant percentage of time will be spent supporting the project accounting team as they generate client invoices.
• Complete project set-up based on information provided by a Project Accounting or Project Manager.
• Serve as a partner to project accountants as they support the Project Managers by assisting with functions such as pulling invoice backup, tracking of subcontractors, preparing progress reports, supporting client audits, adjusting budgets as requested, writing off or transferring work in progress (“WIP”), monitoring accounts receivable aging and supporting collection of invoices, etc.
• Ensure project close out procedures are completed on a timely basis.
• Ensure all assigned functions are carried out in compliance with approved policies, key controls and practices and procedures.
  
  

Job Requirements

• Basic accounting knowledge obtained through experience or education is preferred
• Microsoft Excel skills are preferred
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Able to develop solid working relationships
• Basic knowledge of general contracting practices preferred
• Ability to work the night shift schedule
