Source to Pay Invoice Processing Advisory Head & AI Capability Expert
The IP Advisory Head & AI Capability Expert is a senior community leadership role accountable for quality assurance stewardship, operational enablement through Business Excellence, home development of invoice service management, AI capability advancement across the Source-to-Pay (S2P) Invoice Processing function, with emphasis on enabling quality at source and predictable outcomes at scale.
The role drives an AI-first mindset within IP, translating AI potential into practical, governed, and scalable capability through clearly defined use cases, standards, and adoption guardrails—positioning AI and automation as enablers of better decisions and sustainable First-Time-Right outcomes.
Guided by VACC leadership principles, the role strengthens capability, embeds standards and innovation into operations, and supports sustainable, high-quality performance in line with Bayer’s purpose: “Health for all, Hunger for none.”
YOUR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Visionary
- Shapes the vision for Quality Assurance, operational enablement, and AI-enabled capability aligned with enterprise IP priorities.
- Anticipates emerging risks and capability gaps, ensuring enablement practices evolve with business and technology needs.
- Acts as a forward-looking thought leader for sustainable, expert-driven IP operations.
Architect
- Owns the IP Quality Assurance framework, acting as Home & Work Lead for Controls, with accountability for standards, governance, and control effectiveness across IP.
- Defines and governs quality assurance policies and mechanisms, and risk mitigation standards to support consistent First Time Right (FTR) outcomes.
- Provides expert input into the evolution of the IP operating model from a controls, enablement, and AI‑capability perspective.
Catalyst
- Drives an AI-first mindset within IP, positioning AI and automation as enablers of better decisions, quality at source, and sustainable First-Time-Right outcomes.
- Defines and governs AI and automation capability for IP, including clear enterprise use cases, priorities, standards, and adoption guardrails.
- Ensures AI and automation are embedded into operational workflows, supporting execution at source rather than delivered as standalone or experimental solutions.
- Partner with IP Leadership Team, S2P Capabilities, Procurement, vendors, GPO, IT, and delivery teams to industrialize and scale solutions and embed AI into the solutions.
- Leverages data, analytics, and learning loops to continuously strengthen IP execution maturity and inform future AI use case.
Coach
- Acts as Home Lead for Controls, Business Excellence, and Invoice Service Management (ISM), accountable for people development and capability readiness.
- Coaches and mentors leaders to build the right skills, behaviors, and depth of expertise, enabling individuals and teams to contribute at their best.
- Provides structured coaching, mentoring, and feedback aligned with role expectations and performance needs.
- Fosters a learning‑oriented, high‑ownership culture that supports sustainable performance, engagement, and talent growth across IP Advisory community.
WHO YOU ARE
- University degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, IT, Data/Analytics, or comparable professional qualification.
- Leadership experience in S2P / Accounts Payable, preferably within GBS / Shared Services.
- Strong expertise in quality management, AI, and operational risk.
- Proven experience in AI, automation, analytics, or advanced process enablement.
- Credible advisory and influencing skills with senior stakeholders.
- Comfortable operating across global time zones and cultures.
