Location: Philippines - Angeles (Pampanga)

Job Description

This role is designed for someone who can help take tasks off the Principals plate, support the day-to-day running of the practice, and gradually build their knowledge and responsibilities over time.

The business handles both tax-related and non-tax-related work, so this is not a rigid, repetitive role. It is a development role where the successful person will learn how the practice operates, understand where they can add value, and progressively take on more responsibility as their skills and confidence grow.

The right person will be organized, reliable, willing to learn, and comfortable working closely with a sole practitioner in a small but specialist professional services environment.

This is a role that will develop over time. The successful candidate will be trained in how the business operates and how they can best support its growth.

As they learn more about the practice, the clients and the type of work being performed, the role may expand into more complex administrative, technical, client management or operational responsibilities.

This would suit someone who is looking for a long-term opportunity, enjoys learning, and wants to become a trusted support person within a specialist tax practice.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities may grow over time and will initially include:

  • Supporting the Principal Practitioner with administrative and practice-related tasks
  • Assisting with client file setup, document collection and information management
  • Preparing client correspondence, emails, summaries and follow-up notes
  • Helping manage workflow, deadlines, task lists and client matters
  • Organizing documents and maintaining accurate client records
  • Supporting preparation of basic working papers, schedules or summaries where appropriate
  • Liaising with clients, accountants, advisers and other professional contacts as required
  • Helping improve internal processes, templates, checklists and systems
  • Taking on additional technical or client-facing tasks as training and understanding develops

Qualifications And Requirements

  • Experience working in a professional services firm
  • Experience preparing basic workpapers, summaries or client file notes
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Xero, practice management software or CRM systems
  • Experience with automating repetitive tasks

Non-negotiable Skills And Requirements

  • Experience in administration and support for a professional services firm
  • 23 years of experience in an administrative or Executive Assistant role within the accounting or tax industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to follow instructions, ask good questions and take ownership of tasks
  • Comfortable working independently once trained
  • Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism
